Mr Sean Carrie has been a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Rhinologist at the Freeman Hospital and University of Newcastle upon Tyne since 1999. His practice encompasses all areas of ENT in both adults and children. His clinical interest is telescopic (endosocopic) surgery of the sinuses, pituitary and and base of skull. He also has an interest in septorhinoplasty (nasal reshaping).
He is highly regarded by peers. As such he is President of the British Rhinological Society and President Elect of the European Rhinological Society. He has leadership roles in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. He is Chairman of both the Newcastle Sinus Surgery and Pituitary courses.
He has collaborative research interests in sinonasal inflammation and is a co-recipient in the NIHR grant assessing clinical and cost effectiveness of adult tonsillectomy and septoplasty. He is co-editor of the forthcoming Rhinology section of Scott- Brown’s Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
