Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery is able at an all inclusive cost starting from £1975.00 for a local anaesthetic with a standard lens.

Most patients choose local anaesthetic day-case surgery, which requires only a half-day hospital visit. The actual surgery is usually completed in less than 30 minutes. Local anaesthetic also means age or ill-health should not normally be a barrier to cataract surgery. General anaesthetic is an option for some patients if required.  The microsurgery to remove the cataract is performed using small incision Phacomulsification technique, with usually good healing of the eye and recovery of vision.

Please note a referral is not always necessary for an initial cataract consultation.
